Kara Dairy Free Original + Calcium (Long Life) - now with added vitamins
- In response to consumer and dietitian requests we have now added Vitamins D2 and B12 to Kara Dairy Free.
- Vitamin D2 is naturally present in very few foods with oily fish, butter and eggs as the main sources. Unlike other vitamins the human body can make Vitamin D but only from exposure to sunlight, which can be difficult in the UK especially during the winter months, and is why we are adding it. A deficiency of Vitamin D prevents adequate absorption of calcium.
- Vitamin B12 is found mainly in meats, seafood and dairy milk products. For Vegans and Vegetarians it can be difficult to obtain enough B12, which is why we are adding it. A deficiency of Vitamin B12 leads to anaemia, fatigue and, in some cases, brain degeneration.
